Dr. Meiri’s scientific background is highly diverse; he holds a M.Sc. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in plant biotechnology from Tel Aviv University. Dr. Meiri conducted his post-doctoral fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute where he focused on the role of the GEF-H1 protein in tumour invasion and metastasis. His lab currently investigates the therapeutic potential of phytocannabinoids, the unique active compounds of cannabis, to determine the antitumoral effects of cannabinoids, including the anti-metastatic and pro-apoptotic effects.
